Honors

Participants usually beginning planning for their honors thesis in the second semester of their junior year and first semester of their senior year. A 3.25 grade-point average overall and a 3.5 grade-point average in anthropology courses are required to qualify for honors. They must file a declaration of intent form with the instructor with whom they choose to work. Students must enroll in a minimum of 3 credits (maximum of 6 credits) of ANTH 499 (senior honors research) in the fall or spring of their senior year. Students who complete ANTH 499, individual research, and a paper under the direction of an instructor may graduate with departmental honors.
