Biography

I am a Mesoamerican anthropologist with ample experience conducting ethnographic fieldwork in Guatemala. My research investigates how indigenous people organize their economic lives, articulate their identifications, and reinvent gender dynamics as they confront the effects of globalization. My dissertation examines how Ch’orti’ Maya people are creating pathways toward gender equality as they rearticulate their indigenous identities.
