Silvia Sanchez Diaz

My research interests include ethnicity, gender, and development in Guatemala. My dissertation research examines petty commodity production and exchange in the Ch’orti’ region. My questions are concerned with the impact of globalization in indigenous livelihoods, the articulation of indigenous identities, the social lives of handmade things, and the place of indigenous women in the economy.
