WORK EXPERIENCE             

      University of Kansas (August 2017 – present)

      August 2017 – Present. Graduate Research Assistant. Organizing 52,000 ceramic artifacts and updating the inventory from the Talking Crow site (39BF3) from 1950, 1951, and 1952. 

      Odyssey Archaeological Research Fund (June 2016 – July 2017)

       June 2017 – July 2017. Crew Chief. Assisted in leading field excavations and organized equipment at the Spring Valley site (23CT389). 

      September 2016 – June 2017. Technical Research Assistant. Assisted in organizing Odyssey collections and archival materials. 

      June – July 2016. Field Technician. Assisted excavations at the Two Rivers Site (23SH101) in Shannon County, Missouri, as well as at the Scheuerman Mammoth Site (14SC327) in Scott City, Kansas.

March 2016 – May 2016. Crew Chief. Contributed to draft report titled “Barry M. Goldwater Range East, Range Wide Survey, Pima and Maricopa County, Arizona.”  SRI Project Number 14LK01.

January 2016 – March 2016. Crew Chief. Inventory Survey for the US Army conducted on Fort Bliss. Otero County, New Mexico and El Paso County, Texas. SRI Project Numbers 15MM01, 15 MM02, 15MM03, 15MM04, and 15MM05. Conducted pedestrian survey in 5 separate project areas in New Mexico and Texas for the United States Army.  

September 2015 – January 2016. Crew Chief. Inventory Survey for the Marine Corps conducted within the Barry M. Goldwater Range West. Yuma County, Arizona. SRI Project Number 14NV16. Conducted inventory survey over 27,000 acres.

August-September 2015. Crew Chief. Manned Range 1 Emergency Road Repair. Content and extent testing of site AZ Z:5:68 on the Barry M. Goldwater Range East for Luke Air Force Base. Maricopa County, Arizona. SRI Project Number 10LK25.  

June-July 2015. Crew Chief. Phase I excavations on five sites in the Barry M. Goldwater Range East. Maricopa County, Arizona.  SRI Project Number 10LK21.  

May-June 2015. Crew Chief. Wrote site descriptions for final report for SRI Project Number 10LK22.  Final report titled “Rankin Valley: Intensive Archaeological Survey of 495 Acres in the Sauceda Mountains, Barry M. Goldwater Range East, Arizona.”

April-May 2015. Crew Chief. Inventory Survey for the US Air Force within the Barry M. Goldwater Range East. Maricopa County, Arizona. SRI Project Number 10LK22.

Conducted test excavations at three historic and one prehistoric site in order to determine National Register eligibility. Excavated historic and prehistoric features at these sites as well.  

June 2014. Field Technician. Phase I Survey for the Spurlock Landfill, Mason County, Kentucky. CRA Project No. K14E006. Conducted pedestrian survey, shovel testing, and used a fluxgate dual-head gradiometer for geophysical survey.

The University of the South’s Archaeology Department

January-May 2014. Teaching assistant for Dr. Sarah Sherwood’s class “Archaeology of the Cumberland Plateau”. Created a database for site management using Filemaker Pro and lead groups comprised of students on small-scale surveys.

January 2013-May 2014. Worked as a laboratory technician in addition to maintaining mapping data, site databases, and artifact catalogues.  

June 2012 - Fall 2013. Project Archaeologist.  Worked with Dr. Sarah Sherwood and ran crews consisting of one to five people surveying approximately 528 acres on Domain at Sewanee.  Documented a variety of Euro-American domestic sites and conducted test excavations at two of these sites. Wrote a report for an archaeological methods class based on this research entitled “Archaeological Testing of Two Late 19th-Early 20th c. Rural Structures on the Sewanee Domain”.
